A guiding light for women in transition

Anna Markland has a background in management consulting with Ernst & Young, where she specialised in government clients. She has extensive experience within the health & social care sector and currently works as the Innovation Manager for the Health Foundation, a charity funder and policy think tank for the NHS. Anna is keen to support foreign born women having herself come from Ukraine as a child. Outside of work Anna enjoys participating in improvised comedy and is trying to learn the piano.

My journey with Onpartu started by hearing Paulina, Agustina and Ksenia talk about plans for a new venture to support women to get roles in the UK more suitable for their professional backgrounds. This was a cause close to my heart, as my family is from Ukraine.

Getting involved meant...

Getting involved initially meant acting as an interviewer for Onpartners practicing their interview skills; it was really great to meet impressive women all focused on finding a career right for them.

My Onpartu role now is acting as a mentor, working closely with a particular Onpartner to help her define her goals and develop an action plan.

In my day job, I am responsible for establishing creative ways to fund and support innovation, and improvement in healthcare services across the UK.

My most memorable Onpartu moment was hearing from my mentee how much she’d enjoyed her recent interview – she’d gone in confident, sure of what she wanted and what she could offer.
